Southern Vales Archery Club

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

​

Club Championship consists of 4 rounds

Round 1 Indoor - held at our indoor venue

Round 2 Target 72 - 72 arrow rounds

Round 3 Target 90 - Canberra rounds

Round 4 Field Round - held at Victor Harbor

(rounds may be scheduled in different order some years)

The Southern Vales Archery Club (SVAC) Annual Club Championship (CC) will be governed by the following rules:

 

1.       ELIGIBILITY

1.1     All competitors must be a financial member of SVAC prior to the commencement of Round 1

 

2.      DRESS CODE

2.1    Competitors must wear either club uniform or the Southern Vales Archery Club 40th Celebration shirt. No other shirt          or jacket is permitted.

2.2   All other clothing must not contain any visible offensive, foul wording or graphics

2.3   Closed in footwear must be worn during every event

3.      FEES

3.1    Entry fees for the Indoor and Field Event will be determined by the Host Club

3.2   Standard Line Fees will apply to both Target Events

3.3   Fees will not be refunded for any reason once the event has commenced

 

4.     BOW TYPES

4.1   The bow types permitted will be those as recognised by Archery Australia

5.      DIVISIONS

5.1    The age and gender divisions will be those as recognised by Archery Australia

5.2   20 and Under, Master and Veterans may choose to compete in the Open Division but must have notified the

         Committee, in writing, prior to the first round commencing

5.3   All other Competitors must remain in their designated Age Divisions

6.      ROUNDS

6.1    There will be four rounds consisting of two target, one field and one indoor

6.2   Target 72 will be the 72 arrows rounds, bowtype/division applicable

6.3   Target 90 will be a Canberra, Short Canberra and Junior Canberra

6.4   The Field Event will be a marked field event

6.5   The Indoor Event will be an Indoor FITA at 18 metres

          (in the event that we cannot hold it indoors we will schedule an outdoor 18m event at our grounds

6.6   Only three of the event scores will be counted, the lowest scoring round will be automatically discarded

6.7    In the event that two or three rounds are deemed as equally lower than others and if the competitor does not

         nominate which rounds they wish to discard, the decision will be at the discretion of the Club Recorder

 

7.      SCORING

7.1    Scoring will be Off the Bow

7.2   Official CC Score Sheets must be used

7.3   Score sheets must be completed accurately and completely to be accepted

7.4   Points for scoring each event will 25 points for 1st, 24 points for 2nd etc

7.5   In the event of a tie, a count back on x’s, then 10’s, then 9’s etc will apply, with Crossbow clean 10’s being determined

        as x’s, in the order of the Target 72 Round, then the Target 90 and then the Indoor, if applicable

7.6   Competitors must compete in three of the four events to be considered for the CC

7.7   Competitors must complete 100% of the rounds for each event for their scores to be accepted

7.8   Club Championship will be one CC per division, per bow type and per gender

7.9   Trophies awarded will be a perpetual trophy for each CC per division per bow type, per gender, with medallions being

        awarded for 2nd and 3rd placegetters, if applicable

7.10 Trophies and medallions will be awarded at the Annual Presentation picnic

 

8.     EQUIPMENT FAILURE

8.1   In the event of an equipment failure, competitors will be given a maximum of fifteen minutes for repair and to re-enter

        the event

8.2  The shoot will continue with catch-up time allowed immediately after the completion of that particular end

8.3   In the event that the competitor is unable to re-join the shoot, Equipment Failure must be verified by the Field

        Captain, their score at the time of the equipment failure will be accepted as their final score for that event

 

9.     INCLEMENT WEATHER

9.1   In the event of the weather being deemed “unshootable”, as determined by the Field Captain on the day, the event may

        be re-scheduled

10.   SCHEDULE

10.1  Dates for each event will be determined by the Committee during their first Committee Meeting for the new financial

         year

10.2 The Committee will communicate the dates for each of the four rounds by a printed calendar displayed in the

         clubhouse and also via the website as soon as practicable after the first Committee Meeting for that financial year

10.3 The Committee will communicate the venues for the Indoor and Field rounds on the printed calendar displayed in the

         clubhouse and also via the website as soon as practicable after the first Committee Meeting for that financial year

11.     COUPLES TROPHY

11.1   A Family Couple trophy will be awarded to the Family Couple with the highest combined points

11.2  Only three of the event scores will be counted, the lowest scoring round will be automatically discarded

11.3  A Family Couple must compete in three of the four events to be considered for the Family Couple Trophy

11.4  A Family Couple must complete 100% of the rounds for each event for their scores to be accepted

11.5  A Family Couple will consist of any two members of a family that are a parent and child (of any age), a legal guardian 

        and child two siblings, two adults in a recognised union (marriage or de facto)

11.6  A Family Couple must nominate themselves as such to the club recorder, in the first club championship round that

        they compete in, to be eligible for the Family Couple trophy

11.7  Once nominating themselves as part of a Family Couple with the club recorder, an archer cannot be a member of

        another Family Couple in that calendar year’s club championship competition
