Beginners Archery Course
Archery is a sport for all ages, catering for 10 - 80 year olds.
Some 8 or 9 years may be physically suitable to do this course, please seek advice from our Coaches before registering.
Our grounds are open on Saturdays throughout the year.
Our training course is conducted at our grounds (Corner of States & Wheatsheaf Roads Morphett Vale)

Our training is an 8 week program that incorporates 5 weeks of initial training followed by a further 3 weeks (voucher provided *conditions apply) of monitored shooting.

We come from all walks of life, shoot different types of bows and are united in our passion to shoot archery! We’re fortunate enough to be working with the best in the state, and we know that we really couldn’t have become #1 without these incredible people!

IMPORTANT:

Closed in shoes must be worn – thongs and sandals are NOT permitted

Loose and/or oversized clothing is not recommended for safety purposes

Juniors must have a parent or guardian present during training
​
The course covers all aspects of learning to use a recurve bow, safety and archer’s etiquette. The cost of course covers equipment hire and insurance. Towards the end of the initial 5 weeks training, other bow types (such as Compound, Longbow and Crossbow) will be available for you to try under the guidance of the Instructors.

Course places are limited to 10 and fill quickly so early bookings are essential.
​
Please download the Application for Temporary Membership and bring it with you (completed and signed) on the first day of the course.
This application covers you for the 12 weeks of the training course only.
​
Initial training is held on Saturdays for 5 weeks.

Week 1 to 4 - 9am to 11am

Week 5 - 1.30pm onwards

Cost is $135.00 per person
​
On successful completion of the initial training:
You will be awarded a Certificate of Completion that will enable you to apply for membership to our club.

All applications for membership to SVAC must be approved by the Committee, as per Section 5.2 of the SVAC Constitution

Successful applicants will be provided with a club uniform shirt if application is made within 3 months of completing the course

You will be provided with a Voucher for 3 free Saturday Shoots for monitored shooting

Voucher includes all equipment hire and line fees

Voucher must be used within the original 12 week period, expiry date applies.

After the voucher has been completely used, beginners can continue to participate in the Saturday afternoon club shoot
until their Insurance runs out (expiry date is noted on the voucher)
Insurance coverage is for maximum of 12 weeks from commencement of training course
